An arm lift surgery (also called brachioplasty) is performed to remove excess skin and fat, resulting from weight changes, weakened skin elasticity, ageing or heredity. Often this condition of the upper arms is irreparable even during active sports. The most effective way to beautify the contours of the upper arms and armpits and to give the arms an aesthetic appearance is surgical treatment.
SURGERY
An arm lift surgery is performed under general anaesthesia and takes about two hours. Excess saggy skin in the upper arm area is reduced during the surgery. To create a beautiful arm effect, the tissues of the upper arm are tensioned and smoothed, and the excess fat accumulated in the upper arm is removed.
OPERATIONAL RISK
Arm lift surgery, like any intervention, can cause some reaction to anaesthesia, temporary swelling, a feeling of stretching, post-operative pain or bruising. Bleeding, wound infection or scar hypertrophy are very rare.
AFTER THE SURGERY:
- it is recommended to spend one day in hospital;
- to limit physical activity for two weeks;
- to wear special compressive sleeves for two months.
RESULTS
Smoother and firmer arm contours are noticeable immediately after surgery. A small, thin scar will remain at the incision site. Arm lift surgery results are long-lasting, but they depend to a large extent on your lifestyle, diet and physical activity.
