A thigh lift is a surgery that involves the removal of excess skin and fat from the inner thighs. The surgery is usually combined with liposuction. Typically, patients undergo thigh lift surgery following weight loss, as well as during ageing processes leading to the formation of excess fat and the loss of skin elasticity, while sports and a healthy diet are no longer sufficient to recover lost thigh forms.
SURGERY
Thigh lift surgery is performed under general anaesthesia and takes about two hours. During the surgery, the excess layer of fat is removed and the excess saggy skin in the inner thigh areas is reduced. To create the effect of beautiful and firm thighs, the tissues of the upper thigh are stretched and smoothed. The length of the surgical incision is estimated only after the examination of the patient. If a small correction is enough, small incisions are made on the inside of the thighs, and in the case of removing lots of exces skin and fat, the incision is made along the entire length of the thigh.
OPERATIONAL RISK
Thigh lift surgery, like any intervention, can cause some reaction to anaesthesia, temporary swelling, a feeling of stretching, post-operative pain or bruising. Bleeding, wound infection or scar hypertrophy are very rare.
AFTER THE SURGERY:
- it is recommended to spend one day in hospital;
- to limit physical activity for four weeks;
- to wear special compressive trousers for two months.
RESULTS
Immediately after the surgery, smoother and firmer contours of the thighs are noticeable, but the final result is seen after about a year. A small, thin scar will remain at the incision site. The results of a thigh lift surgery are long-lasting, but they depend to a large extent on your lifestyle, diet and physical activity.
